Job Details
The postholder will lead the development of a new communications function to meet the organisation’s strategic objectives. As this is a key role, the successful candidate will have significant proven experience at a senior level in a communications or public relations function within the NHS.
The role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8b. ASAP start.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development of a new communications function to meet the overall strategic objectives;
- Advise key stakeholders on matters regarding engagement, and strategic and tactical communications;
- Develop and implement a communications strategy that will enhance the reputation of the organisation both internally and externally;
- Ensure the implementation of policies and procedures across the new function;
- Lead on crisis management and develop positive working relationships with local, regional and national media to enhance the image and position of the organisation.
- Postgraduate qualification plus training and/or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience;
- Expert knowledge of communications, engagement and public relations;
- Significant proven experience at a senior level in a communications or public relations function within an NHS organisation.
