Job Details
The post will be a mix of on site working and remotely. This is a band 8b role, working inside IR35 on an hourly rate of: £41.13.
Improving patient safety, quality and productivity is an explicit priority and needs to underpin all elements of initiatives undertaken.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing leadership and direction for the quality governance and effectiveness teams, co-ordinating all internal and external activities relating to the quality governance, assurance and regulatory programme to ensure delivery;
- Ensure optimum liaison and working arrangements with sponsors, stakeholders, external agencies and regulators, in addition to having an expert role in ensuring continual compliance with the CQC Regulatory Framework and Fundamental Standards;
- Responsible for taking the lead to formulating long term strategic plans for quality assurance, regulation and compliance;
- Accountable for conducting internal quality assessments of services and care delivered to patients in line with internal and external audits and regional and national standards;
- Responsible for creating and planning the operational framework for quality regulation across the organisation;
- Act as the organisation’s expert on compliance with the CQC Fundamental Standards and other associated requirements, providing interpretation and advice to Senior Management on complex matters associated with this;
- Regularly update and maintain specialist knowledge and expertise of self and team around changing CQC standards and requirements, using this to identify and communicate any implications.
- Clinical professional qualification is desirable;
- Knowledge of the NHS and the improvement agenda, particularly in relation to service delivery;
- Significant experience in corporate leadership role within an NHS Trust or complex acute healthcare environment;
- In depth knowledge of the Health and Social Care Act, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Regulations, Fundamental Standards and associated regulatory compliance requirements;
- Experience of successfully leading and managing a diverse team;
- Knowledge of key quality indicators and compliance against quality/risk/governance agendas;
- Strategic planning and adapting plans to take account of competing priorities.
