Job Details

A large NHS organisation is currently seeking a very capable senior nursing professional, the role will cover general surgery, acute admission, short stay ward and orthopedic trauma specialties. 

Main Responsibilities:
  • Compassionate inclusive leadership leading and influencing all staff with kindness, empathy and care is fundamental to role;
  • Displaying clinical and professional credibility through enabling and empowering staff acting as an advocate, within their area of responsibility, sharing knowledge, developing broad individual and team skills , as well as standardising practice;
  • Engaging with staff and ensuring their suggestions for improvement are harnessed and any concerns rectified at the earliest opportunity.
  • Matrons are pivotal in promoting compassionate and approachable inclusive leadership, influencing staff to embrace experience of care across the organisation;
  • Ensuring that the patient experience framework focuses on key areas of leadership, culture, data collection and triangulation, and learning to deliver improvements and patient centred programmes of care;
  • Ensure a good patient experience for every patient, adopt a nurturing culture and implement consistent processes by which staff can learn from incidents, complaints and other forms of feedback;
  • Ensure staff have the right skills and motivation to enable patient feedback to drive innovation and improvement work involving staff, patients, relatives and external stakeholders in decisions about service delivery;
A successful candidate will have:
  • Current NMC registration as an RGN, also experience within surgical healthcare settings, not limited to NHS;
  • Demonstrable previous success in leading and delivering change and performance with and through clinical teams, by engaging them in the strategic direction and delivery plans;
  • Excellent ability in establishing clear work priorities with them, delegating effectively, ensuring a capability to deliver, monitoring performance and giving feedback.
