Job Details

NHS Providers in NW London have agreed to implement a Shared Service procurement function across the sector, to deliver increased value from our procurement services and to support the development of new commercial opportunities across the sector.  The Shared Service will include most of the existing procurement teams from our provider partners and will be hosted by Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust.

This is the key leadership role that will have an opportunity to shape the procurement landscape within NW London for years to come.  The Managing Director will develop the Shared Service (which shall include systems, process and teams), bringing together our procurement teams and working in partnership with our Shared Service Board.

The principal role of the Managing Director will be to provide the direction, vision, strategy and business plan for the Shared Service, including supporting the development and integration of the service, reflecting the business needs of the partner Trusts and broader NW London sector.

This key senior position will require finely tuned business skills to develop a high functioning procurement Shared Service, which builds upon the existing Trust based teams to deliver benefits in sustainability, responsiveness and best in class commercial and procurement operations across the sector.

We are looking for an individual who has experience in consolidating multiple functions whilst being able to balance both strategic leadership with world-class operational management. Having the emotional intelligence to build effective relationships with partners and colleagues; to deliver long-lasting change to the sector; focusing on quality of service whilst embedding themselves in this newly created role.

This is a critical and high profile appointment and we welcome a diverse field of qualified MCIPS candidates from either the NHS, wider public or commercial sectors.  It is essential you have successfully operated in large scale multi-site organisations with significant Programme Management experience.  You will have exemplary leadership skills and be able to drive positive change in what is a complicated and challenging setting.  The successful candidate will be politically astute with an inspiring and positive character.

For further information please contact our recruitment partners at Allen Lane. Please send your CV, supporting statement and current remuneration to NWL@allenlane.co.uk by midnight on Friday 30th April.

Company

Allen Lane is a specialist consultancy focusing on the NHS and supporting the sector on interim and permanent recruitment across Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, Commissioning and Project Management.

Allen Lane was established in 2004, after the founders having experienced successful careers in a large multinational consultancy. Their approach in setting up a smaller, more specialised business was to establish honest relationships through sound judgement and exceptional customer service, which still continues to this day.  Today every member of the Allen Lane team shares this approach, founded on transparency, flexibility and long term objectives, and we all view recruitment as a career and not as a job.

We are an approved supplier on the CCS non medical non clinical framework and work closely with our clients in the healthcare sector to understand their business, the challenges they face and to introduce them to the right people to help them overcome those challenges.  Over the past 17 years our influence and networks within the sector have developed considerably, but despite our growth in reputation and turnover, we continue to pride ourselves in offering the special kind of service you would expect from a niche “owner run” business.
