One the most diverse providers of NHS mental and physical care in the UK, West London NHS Trust provides care and treatment for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

Navigation of improvement journey has only been made possible with the dedication, commitment and engagement of our 3,770 staff, more of whom than ever would recommend us a place of work.   The Trust has won national awards for its workforce programmes linked to Black and Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff development programmes and a new system for a fairer allocation of shifts and, more recently, for workforce innovation to improve staff recognition.  Last year we were shortlisted for ‘Mental Health Trust of the Year’ by the Health Service Journal.  Our values underpin all that we do and shape our approach to driving transformation through greater co-production and a commitment to working in an increasingly collaborative manner with commissioners and wider system partners.  We are a Trust with genuine ambition and a clear vision - to be the best organisation of our kind in the country - an outstanding healthcare provider, committed to improving quality, and caring with compassion.

We are seeking a Director of Local and Specialist Services, a member of the Trust Board and Executive Team, the postholder will be responsible for the transformation of the local mental services across the boroughs of Hounslow, Ealing, and Hammersmith and Fulham; and for leadership of the Integrated Care Partnership in the London Borough of Ealing.  With the NHS Long Term Plan envisaging significant investment in and transformation of mental health and community services, we are looking to appoint an individual who will ensure we are well positioned to utilise this opportunity to further develop our capability and capacity.  With responsibility for driving forward the transformation of our services aligned to the national roadmap, the successful candidate will need to inspire confidence and innovation amongst staff as they navigate a complex and rapidly changing environment.  Collaboration and meaningful engagement with clinicians and other internal and external stakeholders including partners across the wider health and social care landscape, patient groups and voluntary organisations will form the bedrock of this role.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive operational leader with a track record of contributing at board level and driving change and transformation to services.  Whilst experience of working within mental or community health services is desirable, imperative will be your commitment to continuous quality improvement and demonstrable track record of delivering this within complex, “public facing” public sector environments.  Furthermore, experience of working across organisational boundaries, with external stakeholders and in partnership and collaboration across systems to drive transformation that benefits the end user is essential.  Above all else we are seeking an ambitious, credible and collegiate individual whose personal values mirror our own and whose priorities are firmly focussed on developing outstanding services that are accessible to all.
