Job Details

A large healthcare organisation is currently looking to appoint to the above role. This person will have a current NMC or HCPC registration with the relevant body, you will have also worked in senior management for a healthcare organisation previously. 

Main Responsibilities:
  • Create a climate where excellence in practice flourishes and where individuals are respected and valued for their role and contribution;
  • Set, monitor, implement and maintain standards of practice and patient care through a range of quality improvement and measurement activities that include clinical practice benchmarking, clinical audit, patient satisfaction, performance review and professional accountability.
  • Ensure all standards are aligned to all relevant trust strategies e.g. safety and quality strategy, strategy for nursing, midwifery & AHP (professional framework);
  • Regularly review the provision of services within the care group and division and in line with informed opinions, and information from patients, the changing needs of the patients accessing the service the organisational aims and objectives and local regional and national evidence based guidance;
  • Utilising own clinical expertise and experience work in partnership with the patient, their relatives and clinical teams within and across other care groups in the development of care pathways to provide assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of high quality seamless care;
  • Expand and maintain the development of medical/nurse led discharge and outpatient follow up;
  • Lead, manage and motivate staff within the care groups, ensuring that appropriate management and delegation structures, policies and practices are in place to achieve high levels of performance in meeting objectives and targets;
  • Provide leadership on professional issues within the care group and ensure that related issues from professional bodies are disseminated through to the care group;
  • Provide strong, visible, professional leadership and focus for the delivery of excellent care with compassion across the care group;
  • Take account of own behaviour and its impact or effect on others and act in accordance with current legislation, policies, procedures and good practice;
  • Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting and meeting the needs and choices of individuals;
  • Provide visible and effective leadership creating a climate where individuals and teams understand their roles and responsibilities and people are empowered to be effective in their role.

A successful candidate will have:
  • Registered Professional GMC/NMC/HCPC register;
  • Recent senior management experience;
  • Experience in implementing innovative clinically led services;
  • Proven experience of leading change through people, by effective and engaging leadership.
