The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group deliver outstanding standards of care for our local populations with a focus on patients and people at our core.  Building on the strong foundation set by our outgoing Chief Executive, Raj Jain, we are seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive to support us in realising our ambitions for working with partners in our localities to deliver place-based integrated health and care services.

The Opportunity

Joining us as our new Chief Executive represents a rare leadership opportunity; this is a role of significant scope and profile.  As our new Chief Executive, you will work closely with local authority, voluntary and community sector partners and citizens within our local health and care economies to integrate services and ensure they meet the needs of our communities.  As the progressive Integrated Care System in Greater Manchester formally takes shape, we will play an increasingly key leadership role working with a wide range of partners within the health and care sectors, higher education, and industry.  Leading a highly experienced Executive team and a talented and dedicated organisation, you will be central to ensuring effective governance processes are in place, while seeking opportunities to continually enhance our strong brand and reputation.

The Person

We are seeking a strategic, inclusive, and values-based Chief Executive, someone who is experienced in leading complex organisations and long-term service improvement ideally in a multisite environment.  Thriving in our person-centred culture, you will bring a passion for reducing inequalities, valuing diversity and for empowering staff at all levels, maintaining our position as an employer of choice.  An exceptional communicator with a high degree of political acumen, you will quickly forge trusted relationships with our stakeholders and be skilled in creating effective partnerships working across organisational boundaries locally, regionally, and nationally.  With a proven track record for embedding research and education at the heart of an organisation, you will bring energy to our focus on digital enablement and innovation.

About us

Established in 2017, the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA) is one of the largest and most respected NHS providers in England, employing around 20,000 staff and serving a diverse population of around 1 million people across the North part of Greater Manchester.  The NCA brings together the twice ‘outstanding’ rated Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, an organisation heralded as a beacon of best practice and innovation, with Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust to form a progressive Alliance of Care Organisations under a group arrangement.

The NCA is responsible for running a range of hospital and community healthcare services provided through our Care Organisations across Salford, Oldham, Bury and Rochdale. The NCA is strongly placed to support the development of emerging Integrated Care Organisations across the wider conurbation, through a partnership model with other health and social care providers.  The NCA also plays a key role as a provider in the wider Greater Manchester (GM) system, collaborating with others to ensure the best care possible is provided to all patients across GM.
