A healthcare organisation is looking to appoint an Associate Director Quality and Governance
On a fixed term basis until March 2022.

The post will be working in London on 30 hours per week with at least 3 days per week on site and 1 day working remotely. This is a band 8c role.

The post holder will have excellent leadership and communication skills required to build and implement the quality strategy. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical safety, effective practice and experience of working at senior management level.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure delivery of clinical governance including patient safety, clinical audit and risk management across the organisation;
  • Oversee the management of quality assurance functions and support the delivery of Quality Improvement;
  • Support the Patient Experience and Quality Care subcommittee of the Integrated Governance Committee through reviewing and analysing reports provided to the work stream and preparing reports and action plans as required;
  • Oversight of the implementation of CQC recommendations and monitor delivery of the improvement plan;
  • Oversee the management of legal functions and ensure these minimise the risk of litigation and claims;
  • Act as a resource to colleagues on standards, practice, professional and policy issues at operational and strategic levels;
  • Lead the development, co-ordination and implementation of effective risk-management strategies, working with colleagues to ensure an integrated approach to and embedding a risk-management culture;
  • Ensure that the organisation meets its obligations in relation to national standards (e.g. Care Quality Commission Standards, NHS Litigation Authority Standards and National Patient Safety Agency Standards);
  • Deliver the annual Quality Accounts;
  • Staff management to include: Clinical Governance and Quality Manager; Health and Safety and Non-Clinical Risk Manager; Quality Assurance Manager; Compliance and Risk Manager; Physical Health Specialist Practitioner.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Significant experience in Quality Assurance, Clinical Audit or Governance;
  • Trained in Root Cause and performance / aggregated management analysis;
  • Clinical professional qualification would be preferred;
  • Substantial experience working at senior management level;
  • Senior level involvement in major projects and experience of leadership in respect of external audit, reviews and inspections;
  • Experience of strategic risk management processes;
  • Experience of drafting policies and establishing compliance processes and procedures;
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads and meet challenging demands.
