An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Senior Cancer Operations Manager Manager for up to 3 months in the first instance.

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring continuous improvements in Cancer Services. As this is a key position within the organisation’s senior management structure, candidates must have experience at Band 8c as a minimum and must have worked in a similar capacity within an NHS Acute Provider previously.

This is a full-time, on site role which will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8c.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Leadership and responsibility for the implementation of the Trust’s Cancer Services Strategy;
  • Take lead responsibility for ensuring continuous improvements in Cancer Services, including the delivery of Cancer waiting times and performance targets;
  • Maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders - locally and nationally - to further the development of local patient pathways for Cancer Services;
  • Support the production of the Annual Plan;
  • Efficient and effective use of resources to ensure the highest standards of patient care and excellent service delivery, ensuring developments are sustainable in the long term;
  • Lead on preparation for Cancer peer review visits.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Postgraduate degree qualification or equivalent level of experience;
  • Significant experience of leading Cancer services at this level;
  • Evidence of implementing service improvement;
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
