Are you committed to helping us regulate health and social care within England?

We are looking for individuals who are caring, demonstrate integrity, work well as part of a team and always strive for excellence in everything they do. Help us make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourage care services to improve.

Let us tell you a little bit about the role....

This is a great opportunity to have a far-reaching influence across the services provided by our Primary Medical Services (PMS) and Integrated Care teams across the North Region as well as Children’s Services and Directorate Support.

The PMS & Integrated Care directorate oversees the regulation of General Practice, Urgent Care, Dental, Health and Justice services, Children’s Services, Defence Medical Services and Medicines inspections, and integrated care programmes such as thematic reviews and local system reviews. These services are complex, and regulation faces many challenges, but has the potential to make a real difference to people’s lives. In this pivotal role, you will help translate our vision into tangible, positive, lasting results. Drawing on every facet of your considerable expertise, you will be instrumental to promoting good care and restoring public confidence by tackling poor care.

As Deputy Chief Inspector, you will deliver a key lead role together with strong leadership within a complex environment. This is a post with high profile responsibilities. You will shape strategy at a senior level, lead on regulation and national programmes for PMS & Integrated Care whilst acting as a role model always demonstrating the highest professional standards. You will provide expert advice and oversight to the Chief Inspector and other key stakeholders, both internal and external, ensuring the delivery of a consistent, reliable and good quality inspection process. You will travel across your region and nationally as required, enjoying strong support from colleagues within the PMS & Integrated Care directorate and across the organisation.

What we're looking for from you...

An established senior leader, you are already widely recognised for the differences you have made within healthcare. You will bring a track record of achieving the highest standards, with a genuinely caring and collaborative approach. An inspirational strategic leader, you have the integrity, resilience and resourcefulness to make change happen, no matter how challenging.
