Job Details

Allen Lane is working alongside an NHS organisation in London, in their search for a Senior Developer to join on a substantive basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full end-to-end cycle of requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and delivery for all application systems provided by the organisation, which will include clinical systems, finance systems, HR systems, websites, portals etc.

Additional duties for the successful candidate include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as the SME for the organisation’s developed applications, APIs, scripting and other automation
  • Analyse highly complex and conflicting requirements, and make expert judgements on how best the internally developed systems and processes can meet these
  • Work with suppliers to expand system functionality to better accommodate the requirements where required
  • Responsible for ensuring that the enterprise applications and technology architectures are maintained and aligned with the business and information architectures
  • Providing authoritative, expert guidance and advice on the selection, integration and use of technology and application systems
  • Lead on software purchases, developments and projects relating to Digital Applications services and products where they will lead on working to budget and getting the return on investment
  • Responsible for monitoring the Digital Applications MS Azure usage to ensure this is within budget, since this scales with software developments utilising this technology stack
  • Manage relationships with software suppliers including contract management and renegotiating annual extensions to ensure continuity of service, and best return on investment

Required skillsets/qualifications for the role include, but again are not limited to:

  • Substantial experience in managing all aspects of application systems design, configuration, development, integration and testing
  • Experience working with 3rd party and internal APIs utilising MLP
  • MCSD certified

  • Vast experience working with SharePoint Online, Azure Logic Apps, MS workflow technologies, Form.IO and React
  • NHS experience is desirable, ideally in a Mental Health specialist environment
  • Experience with Mental Health EPRs such as RiO and IAPTus

Company

Allen Lane is a specialist consultancy focusing on the NHS and supporting the sector on interim and permanent recruitment across Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, Commissioning and Project Management.

Allen Lane was established in 2004, after the founders having experienced successful careers in a large multinational consultancy. Their approach in setting up a smaller, more specialised business was to establish honest relationships through sound judgement and exceptional customer service, which still continues to this day.  Today every member of the Allen Lane team shares this approach, founded on transparency, flexibility and long term objectives, and we all view recruitment as a career and not as a job.

We are an approved supplier on the CCS non medical non clinical framework and work closely with our clients in the healthcare sector to understand their business, the challenges they face and to introduce them to the right people to help them overcome those challenges.  Over the past 17 years our influence and networks within the sector have developed considerably, but despite our growth in reputation and turnover, we continue to pride ourselves in offering the special kind of service you would expect from a niche “owner run” business.
