An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Hospital Director, for up to 3 months in the first instance.

The role will be on site and candidates must have considerable experience as a Senior Operational Manager in a provider organisation, as well as evidence of leading and implementing change.

The role will be inside IR35 and will be remunerated under NHSI agency caps at Band 8d/9. ASAP start.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Overall operational management of the acute hospital sites and the day-to-day delivery of these services;
  • Lead responsibility for delivering national and local targets and standards;
  • Ensuring delivery of services against the annual plan;
  • Accountability for the leadership of all staff across the hospital and direct line management of the hospital operational management team;
  • Monitoring the clinical and financial performance of the services, presenting options for improvement and taking corrective action where necessary;
  • Efficient and effective use of resources to ensure highest standards of patient care and excellent service delivery;
  • Ensuring all systems and processes are designed to meet operational best practice.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A strong NHS background;
  • Substantial experience as a Senior Operational leader in a provider organisation;
  • Evidence of leading and implementing change;
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills;
  • An understanding of the structure and framework of the NHS Wales would be ideal.
