ALL YOU NEED TO BE YOUR BEST

Discover what Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is all about by considering us for your next and best career move and you will quickly realise it’s ‘All Here for You’ in more ways than one.

As the largest NHS Trust in England, MFT is on an exciting mission to deliver high-quality care to the people of Manchester, Trafford and beyond. And what better way to help us do this than by joining us as our Group Chief Nursing Informatics Officer; a transformational leader ready to work at Director of Nursing level, with exemplary clinical credibility – this is where you come in.

Size, scale and complexity is what makes MFT unique with over 28,000 staff caring for more than a million patients a year. Combining 10 hospitals and community services from across Manchester and Trafford, we provide a comprehensive range of patient care and services.

We want talented people from all backgrounds to choose to join our diverse team, with a mindset that combines tradition with transformation and where the patient truly is at the very heart of everything we do.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Group Chief Informatics Officer and professionally to our Group Deputy Chief Nurse, we’re seeking an inspiring, engaging and transformational leader to shape and lead the Trust’s digital transformation agenda for Nursing, Midwifery and AHP practice.

You’ll drive the work to support the delivery of our Trust’s strategic aim to become a data driven organisation working with colleagues to support transformational change through the new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and inevitably, you’ll be a visionary in modernisation harnessing the potential of MFT data to facilitate outstanding patient care alongside research and innovation.

Working closely with the professional, operational and clinical leads and teams, it goes without saying you’ll be astute in identifying opportunities to transform practice for the benefit of patients, and in partnership with the HCCIOs (Hospital Chief Clinical Informatics Officers), providing expert professional and clinical advice and guidance.  Naturally, you’ll engage with key stakeholders to ensure patient and clinical involvement takes shape both in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of systems and services.

About You

Highly experienced with a broad understanding of the value of digital technology and information, you’ll have a natural ability to grasp change in business needs and communicate the real, tangible benefits of how informatics will fundamentally improve our work to support our most important factor, patient care.

You’ll be proactive and positive; have a proven track record of quality improvement, display excellent communication skills and be passionate about making a difference to both patients and staff.  Importantly, you’ll be able to easily evidence successful leadership in high impact change and delivery of key nursing outcomes through the innovative use of digital solutions.

What’s more, you’ll be a unique leader with the foresight to manage, motivate and develop staff, bringing them with you on MFT’s vision within Informatics.

Needless to say, you’ll be both resilient and tenacious with the natural flare to work effectively and efficiently within pressurised environments at high pace, applying adept prioritisation skills and a forward planning approach. Effective influencing, negotiation and diplomacy will be imperative to your success alongside a high degree of emotional intelligence.

This is a truly unique opportunity to take your nursing leadership career to the next level where your impact will help shape the future of nursing, midwifery and AHP practice at MFT, developing professionally in both your skill set and experience in one of the largest acute NHS Trusts in England.
