Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is an integrated care organisation with a budget of £430 million and over 7,000 staff. We currently provide care to 530,000 local people from across North-West Birmingham and all the towns within Sandwell from our two main hospital sites and our intermediate care hubs, and we provide primary care direct from the Trust to one in ten local residents.  Next year we open our new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital which will bring together teams providing acute and emergency care.  We are dedicated to improving the lives of local people and to the reduction of health inequalities, and the development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area.  The new hospital will also keep integration at the heart of our journey, providing an opportunity to design and shape services that are fit for the future and offer exceptional quality of care to our communities. 

We are now seeking to appoint an outstanding Chief Nurse to join us as a key member of the Trust Board and Executive Leadership team.  With a commitment to the delivery of outstanding patient care, the role is accountable for the overall clinical leadership of nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals. A proud nurse, you will champion the voice of our patients and clinical workforce within the Trust, across our two Integrated Care Partnerships and the wider Integrated Care System. You will help us to cultivate and sustain happy, productive and engaged staff who feel empowered to deliver outstanding care and support to our patients, who in turn feel empowered to be part of their own care journey when they need us most. As we prepare to open our new hospital, you will also provide leadership to the development of new and innovative models of care, while supporting a culture of continuous improvement across our existing services and care models.

We are interested to hear from existing directors and deputy directors of nursing who are energised and motivated to work with the Board and our people to improve health inequalities across Sandwell and West Birmingham. Through your significant leadership experience, you will help support and deliver our ambition to become renowned as the best integrated care organisation in the NHS.
