Description:

A large healthcare organisation is looking for a senior level NHS Estates professional, who can take management of major capital investment construction, infrastructure, investment and refurbishment programmes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the delivery of high quality estates construction projects across the Trust;
  • Monitor the performance and outcome of the services and to provide detailed analysis reports of the performance and ongoing operational standards of compliance for construction services;
  • Take detailed and complex analysis of Estate assets with respect to its investment and operational lifecycle;
  • Carry out detailed building infrastructure investigations and analyse construction systems, from the analysis to develop continuous improvement programmes to maximise operational efficiency of construction services;
  • To liaise with the construction staff subcontractors under the PFI contract at the Hospital – with respect to the provision of Estates Maintenance Services – ensuring that the Trust’s needs and performance requirements to obtain value for money remain paramount at all times;
  • To develop detailed construction output and design proposal and reports of Estate construction infrastructure systems and plants that are utilised within the Trust;
  • To assist Finance Directorate and work in conjunction with other construction staff in the preparation and formation of the annual ERIC returns;
  • To lead the negotiation and review of construction contracts to ensure that the Trust receives value for money, efficient and cost effective services that meet Trust business and regulatory requirements;
  • Present performance reports to the Board on performance delivery with actions plans, where appropriate, to address service delivery issues;
  • Develop, consult and implement a maintenance programme to support the safe and efficient delivery of all clinical and support services across all Trust sites.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Chartered Builder/Surveyor, experience in detailed construction analysis methods and report writing at professional level;
  • Minimum 10 years management experience; with at least 5 years at Senior level;
  • Experience of construction major investment, evidence of senior
  • NHS experience in a complex demanding environment;
  • Knowledge/use of ERIC and PAM.
