Interim Head of / Ass Director of Safeguarding

Pure Interims are consulting with an NHS organisation seeking Interim Head of / Ass Director of Safeguarding for a 3 month assignment. The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse and have experience within mental health, learning disabilities and dementia. 

Brief Duties / Responsibilities
 

• Provide strategic, professional, clinical leadership for vulnerable people including the safeguarding of adults, children and young people
• Ensure that the highest standards of safeguarding adults and children are delivered in line with national, regional and local policy
• Work collaboratively with partner providers of health and social care to provide a unified approach to safeguarding service users
• Oversee compliance with the CQC standards relevant to the portfolio and establish systems to ensure that the care needs of vulnerable people are met
• Have responsibility for the professional leadership, operational management, budget and resource for the team
• Be an expert practitioner demonstrating knowledge and skill including the integration of research evidence into practice by expert clinical reasoning and decision making 
• Work with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams in relation to individualised care of service users in order to interpret and analyse complex clinical information 
• Have strategic responsibility for ensuring implementation of appropriate Care Quality Commission core standards, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 requirements and other relevant external targets and standards 
• Lead the implementation of relevant strategies, policies and performance measures
