Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen, supporting a large healthcare organisation as a Designated Professional for Safeguarding Adults.

The post holder will work to provide strategic, professional, clinical leadership and consultancy in the safeguarding of adults.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively across boundaries with partner providers of health and social care to provide a seamless approach to safeguarding service users of the organisation, their families, and the general public;
  • Responsible for ensuring that the organisation and the services they commission are compliant with the Mental Capacity ACT (2005);
  • Work in partnership with NHSE Regional Prevent Coordinator to ensure that PREVENT continues to be promoted;
  • Work in partnership with all agencies providing a service to “adults at risk” to support the process of safeguarding, commissioning, procurement, quality assurance and contracting to ensure that the organisation complies with national legislative requirements and delivers excellent standards of service delivery for the residents whose care is funded by the organisation;
  • Take the lead role in maximising the contribution that values, and evidence-based practice makes to the service user journey in the areas of Expert safeguarding Adults practice, Strategy development, implementation & evaluation, Professional leadership and consultancy, Education, teaching and research;
  • Contribute to and influence national advances and developments in the fields of adult safeguarding where appropriate;
  • Exercise a high degree of personal and professional autonomy, utilising an ability to reach complex and critical judgements and decision-making skills to satisfy the expectations and demands of the job;
  • Hold responsibility for the professional leadership, operational management.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A masters’ degree, or equivalent level of experience at a senior level in specialist area;
  • Must have a professional registration with the NMC;
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas;
  • Detailed understanding of the Care Act 2014 section 42, Mental Capacity Act and DoLs;
  • Knowledge of PREVENT and Modern Slavery;
  • Developed communication skills for delivering key messages to a range of stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation, some at very senior level.
