At the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, staff pride themselves on not only leading through clinical excellence, but also by creating an environment where all staff are valued and appreciated. To achieve this, the Trust has embarked on an exciting new strategy focused on continuous improvement. Our vision is to be the preferred hospital of choice for our community and to continue to provide a comprehensive, high quality and accessible range of emergency and elective services to all our patients.

The Countess of Chester Hospital is a £270 million organisation with over 5,700 staff caring for a population of over a quarter of a million residents.  The Trust provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services and obstetric services with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality patient care. Countess of Chester Hospital is nationally accredited at the highest levels in many areas; in particular clinical outcomes and patient safety.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, Dr Susan Gilby, the in-coming COO will be an experienced operational leader of clinical services with a strong track record delivering both excellence, innovation and improvement.  We are seeking candidates with the leadership credentials to work effectively through a strong team at scale and the ability to embed improvements across the Trust, working collaboratively with system partners in Cheshire West.
