The Trust is recruiting to two Divisional Director roles, one for Emergency Medicine and one for Specialist Medicine.  You will work as part of the Divisional triumvirate with the Associate Medical Director and the Divisional Director of Nursing. You will be a key member of the Chief Operating Officer’s Operational Leadership Team.

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has Wirral’s only Emergency Department and it is one of the largest and busiest acute NHS Trusts in the North West.  The Trust has achieved multiple national awards in areas including Dermatology, Dementia, Patient experience, Patient safety, scientific innovation and staff engagement.

The Trust provides healthcare and serves a population of approximately 322,796 people across Wirral and the surrounding areas of Cheshire, Merseyside and North Wales. The successful candidates will demonstrate inspirational and credible operational leadership and the energy, drive and determination to successfully prepare for and respond to the  expectations and needs of the NHS and its service users.

The successful candidates will provide support and direction to their teams so that high quality patient care is delivered. You will actively strengthen a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and strong operational performance. The primary purpose of this role is to work together as part of a cohesive divisional triumverate to develop, direct and lead modernisation, service improvement and performance strategies and policies to support the delivery of patient care reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and leading the operational performance of the Division,

The successful candidates will support the delivery of Trust-wide strategic developments internally and externally, working with health and social care partners and also the Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System.
