Our nursing workforce is at the heart of so much of what we do at AWP. We are looking for a new Director of Nursing and Quality with a strong level of professional pride who will inspire and lead all of our nurses, and indeed, be an inspiration to everyone who contributes to delivering our services.

We are seeking someone with a values set aligned to our own; a Director of Nursing who will foster professional pride and embed a culture of care and continuous quality improvement. To succeed in this exciting and challenging role you will be drawing on your excellent leadership and influencing skills, your political acumen, your commitment to service users and their families, and your drive for positive change. This is a role for a nursing professional committed to providing person-centred services, which are high quality and recovery-focused, and who is passionate about listening to the voices of staff, service users and carers.

Our Director of Nursing and Quality is accountable for the quality of services throughout AWP, working closely with our Medical Director, all members of the Executive Team, and wider leadership team; to carry this responsibility you will bring your significant experience as a senior nurse or nursing director, to be a credible ambassador for mental health services both within AWP and beyond.

We recognise that this appointment comes at a time of significant pressure and change; like all parts of the NHS we are facing challenges, including growing demand for all of our services, workforce challenges and continuing pressures on our finances. In response to these challenges we are pursuing a programme of transformation to ensure that our services are safe, affordable and sustainable. ‘Outstanding AWP’ aims to deliver outstanding care, delivered by outstanding people, in partnership with our patients, carers and system partners, including the two Integrated Care Systems in which we will be operating.
