Director of Strategy and Partnerships

The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust

VSM

The Director of Strategy & Partnerships is a pivotal role within the Trust. As well as being the executive lead overseeing the delivery of the Trust’s strategy and business planning process, the postholder will also lead collaborative working with their partners across the Black Country and West Birmingham ICS, to improve the health and care of the population they serve. They are looking for an individual who understands and can demonstrate their commitment to the Trust’s values, as well somebody who has experience of delivering strategic change to help shape and drive their ambitious agenda for Dudley.

Based in the heart of the Black Country, The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust (DGFT) is the main provider of hospital and adult community services to the populations of Dudley, significant parts of the Sandwell borough and smaller, but growing, communities in South Staffordshire and Wyre Forest. The first hospital trust in the area to be awarded coveted Foundation Trust status in 2008, they provide a wide range of medical, surgical and rehabilitation services. Their hospitals are among some of the most technologically advanced in the country, where state-of-the-art equipment and modern, purpose-built buildings combine to create the highest standards of patient care.

The Director of Strategy and Partnerships will be an exciting and highly influential role. It will require collaboration and joint working nationally, regionally and locally helping to shape and drive a wide ranging strategic agenda. Key areas of focus will include: working with staff, patients and ICS partners as they develop their Integrated Care System and new governance arrangements; supporting integration locally with partners at Dudley Place; leading the implementation of the new Trust Strategy – Shaping#OurFuture. As their Director of Strategy & Partnerships you will have a key leadership role in developing the Provider Collaboration agenda for the ICS working with the other Directors of Strategy across the Black Country.

As a Board member, the Director of Strategy and Partnerships role is critical to the success of the organisation to achieve the organisations ambitious objectives. The NHS is a complex system and one that requires exceptional leadership in order to achieve the best results for patients.

You will have strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, be an excellent communicator, and have the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also need a highly developed understanding of the health and care system nationally and locally, as well as a strong understanding of the national policy, strategy and regulatory landscape.

At the Dudley Group their patients and staff are at the heart of all that they do and that is to provide a world class service that aligns with their vision of providing safe, caring and effective services because people matter. They are seeking to recruit staff who share their vision and values of making Dudley Group an incredible workplace.

The Dudley Group are committed to becoming a diverse and an inclusive employer and where people feel sense of belonging. Seeking to expand diversity within their teams, they positively encourage applications from under-represented groups such as BAME, disabled and LGBTQ+ groups. They are also under-represented in-terms of gender within nursing roles and they would welcome applications from people from male and non-binary backgrounds.

They are committed to home life balance through flexible working and making reasonable adjustments where possible.
