Thank you for your interest in the post of Chief Operating Officer at the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. We operate across the region providing Unscheduled and Scheduled Care services.

This is an important appointment and first and foremost we require someone with a passion to ensure our patients receive high quality and safe services. In addition, we want to attract someone with ambition who will help us to look forward and who has a keen eye on the innovation and improvement opportunities that will keep our organisation sustainable. We are therefore looking for a Chief Operating Officer who will share corporate responsibility for the strategic agenda across our organisation and across our stakeholders.

Our Chief Executive (Helen Ray) has now been in post just over 2 years, and in this time has been working with our Executive Team on our future ambition. We are also driving forward, over the next 5 years a new Strategy that will help us to build on the great work so far and to reshape and rebuild where needed to deliver excellence across all of our service lines.

This is a great opportunity to join our well respected and successful Board of Directors at a time when the landscape for future services is open to change. As we work with our partners across the system to tackle the current global pandemic and the emerging system landscape we are committed to maintaining and improving our position as a ‘good’ performing Foundation Trust (as rated by the Care Quality Commission). We are actively seeking to develop and retain the best people within the North East and we will act with determination to transform the way in which we work to become even more efficient and productive.

To help us to do this, we are looking for an outstanding candidate to join our team, who has the same vision and shares our commitment to living our values of ‘CARE’ – compassion, accountability, respect and excellence. At NEAS we are proud to make a difference and we are looking forward to welcoming a new Executive Director who shares this pride.

If you share their values and aspirations, then we look forward to receiving your application and to meeting with you in due course. For an informal discussion, please contact Joe Joyce of the Finegreen Group at enquiries@finegreen.co.uk
