An exciting opportunity has arisen within a large NHS organisation for a Head of Governance & Compliance.

The role will be working on an interim basis to commence ASAP on an interim basis for 3 -6 months. The post will be working on a band 8B and the majority will be working on-site based in the East of England.

Responsible for leadership and overseeing the organisations process for governance and evaluating assurances of compliance. Assist with CQC requirements and other external bodies and document control including patient information.

Main Responsibilities:
  • The post-holder is responsible for managing the processes for governance including, risk management, central alerting system (CAS), DATIX/Ulysees, evaluating assurances of and compliance, policy and patient information management;
  • Manage the Group compliance process for all external and internal healthcare standards ensuring that the Associate Director –Risk and Compliance is fully informed of the status of compliance levels;
  • Manage the external visits, assessment process including preparation for and Group submission of evidence for the CQC healthcare standards, ensuring evidence is made available to the external assessors is robust, appropriate, accurate and submitted in a timely manner;
  • Ensure that any Quality Assurance peer reviews or processes are coordinated across the divisions;
  • Actively contribute to the strategic leadership of the organisation, setting the vision, strategy and objectives.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Must have senior experience within the NHS/ A healthcare setting;
  • Educated to masters level or equivalent experience in Risk / Compliance;
  • Extensive experience within the field of Compliance;
  • Extensive experience in report writing and ability in analysis and writing complex reports;
  • Experience undertaking compliance inspections delivering complex outcomes from inspections;
  • Excellent working planning skills and capacity to manage conflicting activities;
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of current issues in governance;
  • Good understanding of principles and practices which deliver reliable and safe services;
  • Awareness of current NHS Issues.
