Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen, supporting a large Healthcare organisation as a Corporate Governance Project Lead.

The post will be working in London, initially on an interim basis for 3 months with a potential extension in place working on a Band 8b (inside IR35 through an umbrella solution). Flexible remote working is in place, although on-site working will be required for meetings.

The post holder will lead, establish, and embed the organisation’s business unit’s corporate governance vision by supporting the newly restructured leadership team to develop strong governance processes throughout the nine clinical divisions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Cohesively work with the executive team to set out a forward planning framework for the different committees / board structures;
  • Support administrative teams to appropriately manage those Boards / committees effectively and efficiently;
  • Work closely with the executive team to develop a set format for divisional performance meetings and key meetings which each division should hold each month;
  • Develop a standardised pack of information for all members of the leadership team so that they are working on delivering the priorities in a consistent manner e.g., completion of appraisals, reviewing of monthly budget statements, establishment reviews etc;
  • Set out a revised plan and then work with corporate teams to implement the changes;
  • Work with the communications team to update and maintain the organisation’s intranet pages;
  • Ensure that each committee / Board level meeting within the business unit is properly constituted, operated, and supported to self-manage;
  • Make certain that there is a strong link between the specialty committees, divisional Boards, and the Local Executive Committee, providing a strong focus on finance / workforce / safety & risk and operational performance;
  • Lead on ensuring that established procedures for the sound governance of the business unit’s committee structures operate efficiently, effectively and promotes clear leadership;
  • Promote awareness and understanding of good governance practice;
  • Develop expertise in the business intelligence capability of the Quality Governance function including indicators, scorecards, and dashboards;
  • Develop a culture within the organisation based on listening to and learning from staff to deliver change which is driven by improving care for patients.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Significant experience in project management and Corporate Governance;
  • Senior level experience within the NHS/ a healthcare setting – ideally within an Acute organisation;
  • Experience of setting up robust governance arrangements within a complex organisation;
  • Board secretary experience would be desirable;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with all levels of the staff to meet the changing needs of the organisation.
