Woodrow Mercer Healthcare are looking for PMOs to work on a variety of contract roles for Trusts based throughout the UK. We are particularly interested in Persons who have programme management office experience in any of the following:

The postholder(s) will be responsible for managing, maintaining and developing the organisation’s system for programme management within Planned Care and/or Mental Health. This will include developing reports for the Programme Boards and Board sub committees as required, establishing benefits realisation maps and plans in conjunction with project managers across the organisation and maintaining risk and issue logs as necessary. The postholder(s) will, along with project colleagues, work and support the organisation’s project management governance framework.

Key responsibilities will include:
 

  • Maintain effective internal PMO arrangements including leading monthly reporting processes and assurance, risk and issue management, appropriate methods of mitigation and escalation processes.
  • Present and deliver related information on all aspects of the PMO function in a clear, understandable and audience appropriate manner to operational leads and senior members.
  • Produce clear and concise materials, project and programme documentation and data for use in reporting programmes and progress.
  • Support SROs, project and programme managers and improvement partners across the organisation in compliance with the project lifecycle and the organisation’s governance requirements.
  • Support project managers in identifying interdependencies across projects/functions, potential impacts on the wider organisation, resource requirements and identifying risks as necessary.
  • Ensure that project documentation templates are maintained within a central repository and can be accessed readily by anyone in the team.
  • Contribute to designing, implementing and enabling the programme management system, covering metrics, risk, benefits realisation, and project and programme progress information.
  • Ensure robust evaluations are completed for each project, including the creation of shared learning material.

 

 

The ideal candidate will have:
 

  • Prior experience of working in NHS in Planned Care/Mental Health projects.
  • Sound understanding of healthcare and integrated care system.
  • Project Management qualification and/or extensive PMO experience
  • Evidence of continuous Professional Development.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to prioritise work, meet tight deadline and work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, judgement and analytical skills and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, including using project management software.
  • Experience of using a defined project management governance framework.
  • Experience of applying the NHS improvement methodology to change projects.
  • Experience of implementing robust project governance, risk management and routes for escalating issues and concerns.
  • Ability to collate, analyse, interpret and present complex information to a variety of audiences.

This role is on an initial 6 Month basis:

  • Start date - Immediately
  • Hours/Days pw – Full time
  • Rate – £varies on experience (outside IR35)
  • Location – Various UK, remote working
