Job Details
The post will be working in the East of England on an interim basis for 12 months initially with a potential extension in place.
Main Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Blood Sciences Lead, Pathology Services Manager and the Consultant Pathologists to deliver a quality-driven, cost effective and customer focused Blood Sciences service;
- To ensure the introduction and maintenance of programmes to ensure that all staff are appropriately trained and developed;
- Responsible for the administration, management and development of the Service, taking due account of statutory regulations and agreed quality standards;
- Manages the staff of the Service, encouraging the highest levels of personal and professional standards;
- To manage any realignments of elements of service provision, in close co operation with the Blood Sciences Lead, Pathology Services Manager and the Consultant Pathologists;
A successful candidate will have:
- Current registration to the HCPC;
- Highly developed specialist knowledge of Haematology, Transfusion Sciences and or Biochemistry underpinned by theoretical and practical experience;
- Previous experience appropriate to a senior management position in the laboratory discipline;
- Able to decide upon and implement policies and procedures within the constraints set by the laboratory, Trust and other regulating and professional bodies.
