Job Details

An opportunity has arisen for an Interim Associate Director for People and Organisational Development within a South West NHS organisation. The Associate Director for People and OD will provide senior and strategic workforce and organisational development advice to the organisation. The post holder will lead on workforce development, leadership skills, staff recruitment and retention, and employee health and wellbeing.

Main responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of the People Strategy for the organisation;
  • Management and delivery of HR operations including reporting to the Governing Body and Executive team on progress and plans against key workforce activity;
  • Manage talent effectively within the CCG and contribute to plans and strategies to successively recruit and develop staff;
  • Identify and drive team and organisational professional development requirements to support manager and colleague development;
  • Lead and Chair the Colleague Partnership Forum ensuring key workforce issues, policies and plans (including TUPE/ICB transition) are discussed and progressed through this forum;
  • Lead the organisation transition and impact for all colleagues, liaising closely with the transition team and Directors for People and OD, ensuring all activity is completed to ensure safe transition of staff;
  • Line management of BSW CCG workforce team;
  • Take the lead responsibility within the Leadership Team, for the health, safety and wellbeing of all staff;
  • Take lead responsibility for addressing cultural and personal issues for all colleagues in agile working and return to office working, ensuring the right support and clear messages are provided for all colleagues.
Key Skills/Experience:
  • CIPD qualified
  • Educated to masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Proven and significant leadership experience
  • Good working understanding of health and or care sector and an appreciation of the broad social, political and economic trends influencing it
  • Significant management experience at senior level in the NHS or other public healthcare related industry.
