Advert for 8A Matron

The maternity services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals continually strive to provide an exemplary seamless service for women, their babies and their families. If you are innovative and committed to making a difference for the women and families we care for we look forward to hearing from you.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, influential leader who is confident and dynamic, with experience of working at a senior level in maternity services. The post holder will lead the inpatient antenatal, postnatal and maternity assessment services.  The ideal candidate will be visible with excellent communication and organisational skills to provide senior leadership and coordination of the areas of direct responsibility and support all other areas of the Clinical Service Unit as required.

The key purpose of the role is to support the quality and safety agenda, promoting an organisational culture that is value based and focused on high quality care standards underpinned by  evidence based practice and continual learning. Using strong leadership, communication, influencing and negotiating skills you will lead in the provision of expert advice, support and guidance to the maternity teams. You will be a role model and empowered to influence further developments in Midwifery and respond to National Maternity Transformation plans across the unit, acting as a liaison point and contributing to the continual development of maternity services. You will have a passion for developing staff and creating a learning environment across your wards and department and demonstrate exceptional situational leadership enabling and empowering your teams.
