Job Details
An exciting opportunity has arisen, supporting a large NHS organisation as a Quality Improvement Nurse – Care Sector.
The post will be based in the East of England on an interim basis for 3 months, will support the Care Sector Lead, Director of Nursing & Quality and Nursing and Quality Team in improving quality and patient safety across the organisation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Undertake the management of the quality support monitoring of providers across the organisation, maintain the Care Home and Domiciliary Care dashboard, and provide monthly reporting to meet System reporting requirements;
- Assess and evaluate the quality of health and social care services commissioned against agreed standards, identify areas for further improvement, and drive new developments delivered through robust quality assurance frameworks, systems, and processes;
- Support the management and development of improved performance across the organisation, in particular Care Homes/Care Agencies and Primary Care, liaising closely with the local Council, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and contract teams;
- Implement quality assurance standards and indicators, that are outcome based, ensuring the continuous improvement of clinical services, utilising the Integrated Residential and Nursing Home Framework (IRN) and AQP (Domiciliary Care Framework);
- Continually drive quality improvement utilising National and Best practice including (but not limited to) Francis Recommendations, Care and Compassion in Practice, Winterbourne Recommendations;
- Monitor quality contracts including site and home visits, quality review meetings, and utilise the IRN/AQP Framework;
- Assist with contract development from a quality and safeguarding adult’s perspective;
- Gather and analyse information related to Safeguarding Adults investigations;
- Responsibility to report serious incidents and Never Events, acknowledging lessons learnt for sharing internally/externally as appropriate;
- Formulate and implement Clinical Audit, and subsequent reporting requirements;
- Attend internal/external groups as requested, where quality expertise is required;
- Aid and support, when necessary and as appropriate, for other members of the Team;
- Attend meetings as delegated by the Care Sector Lead /Deputy Director of Nursing and Quality and actively participate in discussions contributing professional experience and knowledge;
- Work closely with key organisational and external stakeholders to continuously strive for the delivery of high-quality services that are fit for purpose, improve the patient experience and patient safety and address health inequalities;
- Be involved in the authorisation of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) or Liberty Protection Safeguards (LiPS) for patients funded by the organisation.
- Qualified nurse with current NMC registration;
- Demonstratable experience of working within a healthcare environment;
- A degree or equivalent experience;
- Evidence of studying quality management, or relevant experience;
- The ability to take an integrated approach with other agencies;
- Analytical skills and computer literate with understanding of database and information systems including Excel and PowerPoint. Well-developed organisational skills.
