South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
Location: West Yorkshire
South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is a high performing organisation with a strong and positive culture, where our staff live our values every day and deliver care that is compassionate and always has the person in the centre. Over 87% of our services are rated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’, and the Trust is rated as ‘Good’ overall.
The Trust is a specialist provider of community, mental health and learning disability services to the people of Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. Most of the care we provide is delivered in local communities by our 4,200 staff with an annual income of £240m. We are the lead provider for secure services across West Yorkshire, providing medium and low secure services and specialist mental health support into Wetherby Young Offenders’ Institution.
We also have a significant role to play in both the West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire Integrated Care Systems (ICS) working with partners to integrate health and care services to meet the needs of our diverse populations. From October 2021 we are the Lead Provider Collaborative for Adult Secure Services across West Yorkshire.
Following Rob Webster’s appointment as Chief Executive designate of the West Yorkshire ICS, the opportunity has arisen for a new Chief Executive to join us and work with our newly appointed Chair Marie Burnham to further our vision to provide outstanding physical, mental and social care in a modern health and care system. This opportunity comes at a time of significant change in the health and social care landscape with the pandemic further highlighting the inequalities we need to address in our society and increasing demand for our services. We are seeking a values-driven, inclusive, and strategic leader who will support our workforce and those who we serve to reach their potential and live well in the community. We operate within a complex stakeholder environment and our Chief Executive will quickly build trusted relationships with our Board, Governors, service users, carers, staff and our partners within the wider systems at regional and ‘place’ based levels.
We are keen to hear from highly competent, inspirational and compassionate leaders who are aspiring Chief Executives as well as those already operating at that level. With experience in health and/or social care service delivery organisations at scale, you will offer a depth of understanding of our services and the risks and the opportunities that we face. You will bring a successful track record of achieving complex, transformational change in partnership across organisational boundaries. A modern leader and an exceptional communicator, you will quickly build credibility with our large, diverse and multi-skilled workforce and be comfortable and authentic in engaging with our wide range of stakeholders; inspiring all to deliver our mission and vision. This is an exceptional opportunity to be bold and ambitious to make your mark in a successful organisation with significant further potential at a critical time for the wellbeing of our communities.
