The Bedfordshire, Luton, and Milton Keynes Integrated Care System (BLMK ICS), is a partnership of health and care organisations that have come together to plan and deliver joined up services and to improve the health of people who live and work in their area.
This partnership presents a fantastic opportunity to truly improve health outcomes in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes in a way that hasn’t happened before. By focussing on working with local partners collaboratively, we will be able to effect change which will deliver improved care to people across BLMK. We know that when services join up, individuals, families and communities prosper and by playing our full role with partners we can impact more on peoples’ health and wellbeing.
We provide these services to a vibrant area, rich in diversity. However, we recognise there is poor health and inequality within our boundaries. Our vision is to work with our population to optimise health and wellbeing; improve equality in our communities and make the best use of our resources. As we work together to deliver integrated, proactive health and care, we will empower people, communities and partnerships to take collective ownership of local issues and help the people of BLMK to stay well and receive joined-up, integrated support when they need it.
Following the recent appointment of Felicity Cox as Chief Executive Officer Designate of the Integrated Care Board (ICB), we now embark on the process to appoint our Chief Nursing Officer. This will be a pivotal role in supporting our ambitions, by leading the development and delivery of our long-term clinical strategy and providing professional leadership to the region’s workforce of nurses, midwives and AHPs. You will do this by working with our colleagues across the system to ensure this reflects and integrates the strategies of all relevant partner organisations within the ICS and the needs of our population.
Alongside other system leaders, you will provide inspirational leadership. You will drive improvement in the quality of our services for the benefit of our population, with a key focus on inequalities, population health and outcomes and work with colleagues to develop our clinical and professional workforce. As part of the ICB executive leadership team, you will lead and influence complex transformation and improvement, through collaboration and mature partnership working.
As a suitable candidate you will be able to demonstrate significant board level experience, have strong strategic leadership skills and a track record of leading transformational change within a politically charged environment. Most importantly, you will have exceptional personal integrity and be committed to championing diversity, inclusion, and equality of opportunity for all.
If you share our ambition, vison, and values, then we look forward to receiving your application and meeting with you in due course. We would particularly encourage applications from candidates with protected characteristics, as we are committed to improving diversity within our system.
