An exciting opportunity has arisen, supporting a large Healthcare organisation as a Covid Response Service - Clinical Assurance Director.

The post will be working on as an interim for 3 months initially, on a fully remote working basis. The hourly rate will be between £41.13 - £49.54 working inside IR35 (through an umbrella solution).

The post holder will be a senior manager in the Covid Response Service (CRS), responsible for the clinical safety and clinical governance of the clinical services offered.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong leadership, governance, direction, communication, and focus, in pursuit of delivering professional and clinical excellence;
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with operational and clinical colleagues;
  • Engage with external stakeholders with regards to Clinical Governance of the CRS (Covid Response Service);
  • Have overarching leadership for the clinical teams both within the service centre and the clinical staff within the supplier sites;
  • Responsible for the effective and timely reporting of complaints, feedback, and incidents in line with commissioner requirements;
  • Advise the Chief Nurse/Clinical Director on clinical governance matters emerging from key relationships with commissioners and partner providers;
  • Ensure learning from Clinical Audit is reported to commissioners, including improvements to clinical performance and respond to further requirements from commissioners.
  • Act as the Day-to-Day Line manager for all the staff within the clinical function including activities such as: appraisals, sickness, absence, disciplinary, grievance matters, recruitment, and selection;
  • Ensure the implementation of best practice in relation to confidentiality of patient information is adhered to in line with Caldicott guidance / principles;
  • Positively engage with Stakeholders/ Commissioners to facilitate development of the health care agenda and to enhance their understanding of the role of the organisation as an e-Health provider;
  • Respond to significant clinical issues that may arise in the out of hours period, including serious incidents, clinical alerts, and liaison with external agencies, e.g., HPA, Police.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Must be a registered General Nurse;
  • A master’s degree or equivalent or previous experience;
  • Significant, proven experience at a senior level within a clinical setting;
  • Proven experience at a senior level for managing clinical risk and quality;
  • Experience of working within and knowledge of the structure of the NHS;
  • Excellent working knowledge of current 111 operational and clinical issues;
  • Experience of quality improvement, preparing for and managing CQC inspections;
  • Proven experience of managing all elements of clinical governance and teams.
