KINDNESS.  FAIRNESS.  INGENUITY.  DETERMINATION

At Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, we are proud to provide mental health and learning disability services to 1.3m people across Greater Manchester and these four values drive everything we do. Our 4,000 staff have big ambitions for our organisation, and with our strategy focused on developing high quality care and a supportive culture this is an exciting and challenging time to join us. At the forefront of our approach is our desire to tackle all forms of discrimination.

Covid-19 has fundamentally changed the way we deliver services and has accelerated our collaborative work with partners across the Greater Manchester health and care system.  We also know the pandemic has had a significant impact on the mental wellbeing of our populations and that it has placed huge demand on our highly committed and resilient staff.  We are committed to ‘building back better’ as we find innovative ways to adapt to our changing world.

At this critical time for our services, we are seeking to appoint two new Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to our Board.  For one of the NED appointments we are seeking an individual with experience as a clinical leader of a relevant profession and with insight into mental health and/or learning disabilities services, for the another we are interested in hearing from experienced NEDs with leadership experience gained in people-focused organisations, who bring the credibility to step into the critical role of our Senior Independent Director. For both positions we welcome diverse and fresh perspectives; innovative and inclusive leaders who thrive with accountability and ambiguity.  Comfortable in challenging at board level in complex organisations; you will be politically astute, creative, and focused on quality.  You will bring to life our values as you promote the highest standards of integrity and corporate governance, ensuring that quality, finance, and operational demands are held in balance.

To learn more about us, these roles, the opportunity to meet representatives of the Trust at a ‘virtual’ event and instructions on how to apply please visit www.penninecarecareers.com and contact David Heaton or Emma Pickup of GatenbySanderson on 0113 205 6094.

Closing date: Monday 31 January

Virtual open evening:  4pm Monday 17th January 2022

Expected interview dates:  7th or 8th March 2022

We welcome and encourage applications from candidates from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities or lived experience who are currently under-represented on our Board, including those with an understanding of severe and enduring mental illness.
