Job Details

A large NHS Trust is seeking a Research & Delivery Manager within Clinical Trails to support the delivery of high-quality research within the Trust. You will be a key member of the senior management team and play a pivotal role in the strategic development and operational management of high-quality research.

The post will be working in the South Coast on an interim basis for 3 months initially with a potential extension in place.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To provide leadership and accountability for the safe, effective and efficient operational delivery of services within the Research department;
  • To lead a team of research support staff whose role is to set up, facilitate, manage and monitor research studies;
  • Work effectively as a member of the Research senior team to ensure high quality services are maintained at all times, devising and initiating corrective action where necessary;
  • Lead the Research Office team to ensure the timely set up of all hosted and sponsored research studies, meeting national metrics and benchmarks;
  • Work with the Senior Research Nursing team, CIs and PIs to ensure that research studies are resourced appropriately and can be delivered safely and to target
  • To develop, implement and maintain the research Quality Management System for the Trust’s research activity;
  • To develop systems to ensure the regulatory compliance of Trust-wide research activity (including research outside of the Trust for which the Trust is responsible as Sponsor) and which will involve close working with support departments, Clinical Trials Units, Universities and other organisations;
  • To manage and support the delivery performance standards for the Trust, including administration of performance management and monitoring, ensuring development of systems and processes to ensure the achievement of key national and financial targets, and local objectives within Research.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Current NMC registration with active pin;
  • Excellent working knowledge of the UK clinical trials regulations; Research Governance and ethical frameworks;
  • Experience of developing studies for Sponsor review and oversight;
  • Experience of working in the clinical research environment;
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively with a diverse range of people; at various levels of seniority, from all professional disciplines, and different public and private sector organisations.
