A core partner of Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership ICS and of Guildford and Waverley ICP, the Trust also provides adult community services in partnership with the local GP Federation. All these organisations are dedicated to strengthening out of hospital services, improving access to the right urgent care services, and aligning care across the region to reduce inappropriate admissions to hospital. We have a clear strategy and plan for how we want care to look in the future, turning our “True North” goals into reality, ambitious destinations that act as a compass and guide us on our improvement journey. This is an exciting time to join our Royal Surrey family, as we move out of the pandemic and continue our journey of integration. You will play a key role in driving the overall transformation of operational delivery and services of the Trust, as well as providing strategic and professional leadership to our workforce. As part of our leadership team, our Chief Operating Officer will be a progressive leader of our commitment to quality improvement, safety, and efficiency, and will empower our workforce to drive transformation and change beyond organisational boundaries using new innovations for better service delivery and care for patients in the ICS.

For this pivotal Board position, we are keen to hear from operational leaders with Board level or equivalent experience, or from those ready to take their first step into to a Chief Operating Officer role. A collaborative, innovative and transformational leader, you will be a champion for diversity and inclusion, and for putting the patient at the heart of all decisions.

Bringing energy and creativity to our journey of continuous improvement, you will ably establish credibility with a wide range of partners across our local and regional systems. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leadership team committed to working with staff, our public, and our partners to transformation services.  The COO will need to initiate, lead and implement significant changes in our models of flow with the community, have an understanding of how emergency care works and its relationship to acute and specialist medicine, and be able to persuade and insist on the transformation needed if that is best for our patients. This will all require the ability to stand back and analyse our Trust and its role in and with the system and then build the right alliances to get things done and implement change for the better for the people of Surrey and beyond.
