Job Details

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for experienced Interim Head of Site Operations to successfully manage patient flow, capacity and demand and bed management for an NHS organisation in the South East. This assignment will cover a period of up to 6 months in the first instance.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of managing Patient Flow and Discharge Planning across an entire site and delivering against performance targets.

The role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8d.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Take lead responsibility for identifying, resolving and preventing delays within the patient flow system;
  • Assess key activity and performance requirements against current and projected capacity, performance and operational delivery, taking overall responsibility and accountability;
  • Working within the services with staff to improve processes for admission, patient flow within the Trust and patient transfer/discharge procedures;
  • Overall management and delivery of significant out of area bed/patient repatriation;
  • Liaise with members of the multi-professional team both within the organisation and with external stakeholders, to devise and embed service improvements, to ensure continuity is maintained and to ensure patient flow is maximised.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Masters degree qualification or equivalent level of experience at a senior level;
  • Postgraduate level management qualification;
  • Experience of managing Patient Flow and Discharge Planning across an entire site;
  • Credible experience of staff management;
  • Proven track record of being involved in large scale transformation/improvement to ensure that patient care is the upmost priority.
