Our client hosts the regional Ambulance Contract and Commissioning Team which supports the CCGs and emerging ICS's across the East Midlands; providing specialist ambulance commissioning expertise including all aspects of urgent and emergency ambulance commissioning, contracting and assuring the delivery of services provided by the Ambulance Provider.
We are supporting their search for an interim Head of Ambulance Commissioning who can provide leadership across a small team which provides full contract and performance management functions and is responsible for developing and maintaining specialist knowledge areas including national and international best practice. The team specialises in service and contract development that can be applied across the geography of the Contract and is expected to influence service; performance and quality change and improvement to patient safety and experience.
The team will also deliver subject matter expertise to ICB's and ICS's to support transformation and modernisation of services reflective of national direction of travel, as well as policy, procedure and statute.
Essential experience includes at least 3 years expertise of Contracts and Commissioning complex NHS Urgent Care services - ideally Ambulance and patient transport services.
This is a 6 months interim post, remunerated at Band 8B framework rates. Hybrid working; this leadership post will require an onsite presence at the CCGs offices in the north Midlands at least 2 days per week.
