Job Details

We're working with a large University Teaching Hospital in the Midlands who are seeking a senior Interim to join their Operational leadership team for 6 months from June.

This is a busy acute trust with an established team which demonstrates their inclusive and collaborative management style. Despite this their challenges include elective recovery and the re-establishment of elective and cancer performance and Emergency Care performance which, combined with their efforts to improve the speed of discharge of the medically fit, is likely to be a focus as we head towards winter. They are a pilot site for the new Emergency Dept targets and look to innovate through GIRFT.

This is a terrific opportunity for a seasoned Acute operation professional who is looking for their next role to make a different across a large team. The vacant role is one of two Deputy's who will support the COO with responsibility for 6 divisions with 1600 beds and a £1.2b budget. Your particular focus during this role likely to Emergency Care, however Elective Recovery won't be ruled out if that's your particular skill set.

Due to the size and complexity of the organisation it is vital that you're either an established Chief Operating Officer or Deputy with experience of managing an equally complex NHS operation. Significant experience of either Elective or Emergency Care and the levers available to deliver improved performance when working with system partners will be key. Experience of GIRFT would be well regarded too.

Inside IR35, this role will be remunerated on a daily rate in line with Band 9 to VSM and will see you onsite in the Midlands at least 4 days per week, with an additional day from home. There is currently no expectation that you will have to participate in the on-call rota.

With interviews taking place by mid-May I recommend you apply with an updated CV to Lisa Lloyd as soon as possible.
