University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is a large integrated acute and community provider and a major teaching hospital which is a trusted anchor institution at the heart of our communities. Playing an influential and critical role in two integrated care systems, we are an organisation of considerable scale, complexity and potential, and we recognise the important role we can play in supporting the public, patients, our own people and local partners in achieving the best of health for the local population and the communities in which they live by providing Exceptional Care Together.
Following the appointment of the incumbent to an ICS CNO post, we are now seeking an exceptional Chief Nurse to join our Board. Working with our newly appointed CEO, Stephen Posey, we are looking for a highly capable and credible Chief Nurse who brings a sustained track record of success in a relevant setting. As Chief Nurse, you will be an effective role model, exhibiting and promoting collaborative leadership behaviours that uphold our values of Compassion, Openness and Excellence, inspiring our committed clinical workforce, and operating as a genuine corporate director on the Board.
As Chief Nurse of our Trust, you will make a tangible difference to a large and diverse population. To achieve this, you will be an inspiring and brave leader, with a commitment to continuous quality improvement and collaboration. During the selection process, we are interested in how your outstanding communication skills and career successes to date will enable you to provide the best possible care to our communities, and using your strategic vision, will be equally comfortable delivering the safest and most effective clinical services internally as you will be working with partners across our two ICSs and beyond. You must also demonstrate an unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion and showcase how you will role model this at UHDB and across our system.
In this appointment process we are actively seeking candidates from a range of diverse and inclusive backgrounds who offer the leadership skills required to take our Trust forward, and your values and ability to inspire and harness the talents of others is critical for us.
This is a significant and impactful Chief Nurse opportunity, and if your values and ambition match ours and the opportunity to join our Board attracts you, then we very much look forward to hearing from you.
