Finegreen are working with a High-Profile NHS organisation in Wales to appoint an Assistant Director of Community Services. The hourly rate will be competitive based on experience.

The post holder will work across the primary and community interface though joint working relationships between the hospital-based services and its GP Localities.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Set and encourage the achievement of standards of excellence in managerial practice, promoting a management ethos of high standards of performance and quality of care;
  • Responsible for all day-to-day operational and general management matters within the specified area, promoting a culture of open communication underpinned by multi-disciplinary team working;
  • Ensure timely and appropriate decisions to deliver quality patient care within the resources available;
  • Operational lead for the Community Unscheduled Care response, working with senior colleagues and partner organisations to ensure that the organisations plan is implemented;
  • Ensure that timely and appropriate decisions are made to deliver quality patient care within the resources available, escalating matters to the area Management Team as necessary;
  • Required to impart complex information, both to individual staff members, well as to groups of staff, using a range of communication tools to achieve this;
  • Accountable for the management of a complex multi-million-pound budget and associated capital assets, with due regard to complying with the Standing Financial Instructions of the organisation and with European tendering legislation;
  • Assign the annual budget for the area, taking account of forecasting of known cost pressures and anticipated service developments/rationalisations;
  • Identify, take the lead on, and monitor cost improvement programmes and efficiency measures in accordance with the financial strategy of the area reporting any deviations from the financial plan, and identifying appropriate solutions;
  • Responsible for identifying local factors influencing the implementation of national policies;
  • Responsible for ensuring that the operational plan is produced which details how national and local policies and priorities will be delivered by the area to meet national and local standards/targets;
  • Fully contribute to the management of critical incidents, reporting systems, risk assessment and risk management;
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety structure and framework that encompasses all areas and all staff groups in the specified area.
The ideal candidate will have:
Master’s degree or equivalent demonstrated knowledge/experience or qualification;
  • Evidence of continuous professional development;
  • Significant operational management experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Experience in managing multi-million-pound budgets;
  • Experience in leading and implementing service development;
  • Strong evidence of leadership and change management skills.
