We are working with an Acute NHS Trust in the East of England who are looking to appoint an Interim Head of Site Flow. This role will be for 3 months in the first instance and has an expectation it could extend.

The responsibilities within this role will include:

Operations Centre and Site Teams across the Trust; Patient Transport Team and Capacity and Flow CBU team.
The Trust are looking for a candidate that has a strong and credible track record in this area and can demonstrate considerable experience at this level.
This is an interim role that falls under the Workforce Alliance Framework and should be expected to be remunerated under the NHSE/I Agency Caps rate for Band 8c - c£50 ph/£375 pd.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Operational responsibility to support the achievement of the emergency performance access targets along with the management and development of the site operations teams;
  • Lead the operational day to day flow of patients through emergency and elective pathways, ensuring safety and capacity is utilised appropriately;
  • Lead on the coordination of activity across operational divisions to make risk-based decisions on approaches to managing day to day capacity and flow and balancing issues and decisions across multiple sites;
  • Provide visible, inspirational and proactive leadership to the site operations teams, transport team, acting as the key senior lead for issues, challenges, and escalation;
  • Responsible for ensuring the efficient day to day running of the site management teams, delivering key quality, performance and financial plans, achieving key service improvements within the team and line management of designated staff;
  • Work in partnership with key operational leads, drive operational performance against agreed Trust and National KPI’s ensuring safe, responsive services;
  • Act as the Trust representative in system wide approaches to managing capacity and flow including involvement in escalation calls and routine resilience forums;
  • Lead on corporate activities in support of maintaining capacity and flow across operational divisions, including but not limited to running the organisations winter response; escalation and capacity incident management as required.
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Masters level qualification or evidence of post graduate study (or equivalent experience);
  • Recent experience at senior level in healthcare setting;
  • Credible track record of patient flow and capacity and demand management;
  • Extensive knowledge of, and experience in, the operational management of Health services;
