Head of Nursing Informatics Officer
Band 8b
Fixed term contract- 18 Months
During EPR Phase 1 deployment, we had the pleasure of 2 staff members taking up the role of Head of Nursing Informatics Officer, providing 1 day a week to the EPR / Digital Programme. This role has proven to be invaluable to the success of the deployment, so building upon that success, I am delighted to announce that the Trust is looking to appoint a full time Head of Nursing Informatics Officer representing Nursing, Midwifes and AHPs.
This new role provides clinical leadership alongside the Deputy Chief Nurse, Chief Clinical Informatics Officer (CCIO) and Director of IT to ensure the organisation realises the benefits digital transformation can bring to clinical practice to enhance patient care.
Due to the scale of the EPR programme the objective is to complete the rollout in stages over coming years, with deployments into our emergency department, electronic prescribing and medicines administration system (EPMA) and Sunrise Order Comms over the next 12-18 months.
EPR will improve patient care and both patient and staff experience, we know currently patient information is collected in a number of different ways and using different computer systems. Our systems are limited in what they can do and they can't always be accessed in all areas of the hospital. We often have a very disjointed way of collecting and viewing our patient information. The new system will give us a full patient record which will improve how we care for our patients.
