At our hospice in Sully on the beautiful South Wales coast, and across local communities in Wales, our multi-disciplinary team offers heartfelt and highly personalised clinical care, providing respite and support for the child, siblings and parents or caregivers, creating lasting memories and supporting them through end of life and beyond.
To deliver on our vision, a Wales where every child with a life shortening condition lives a fulfilling life, supported with the compassion and specialist care they and their family need, we are seeking a highly experienced clinical governance leader to drive our clinical governance and quality agenda and our aspiration for continuous service improvement.
Reporting to the newly created Director of Nursing and Clinical Services post, the successful candidate will be responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of our clinical governance and regulatory compliance. Collaborating effectively with our multi-disciplinary teams, including our family and outreach services directorate and peers across the health and social care network, to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and families, you will have demonstrable experience of leading collaborative, motivated high performing teams who observe the highest standards of clinical governance to support the delivery of quality, safe, child centred care.
With an excellent understanding of clinical governance and risk management, you will have a current professional registration with the NMC. As a key member of the care senior care leadership team, and possessing excellent interpersonal skills, you will be a visible, ‘hands on’ leader. Your remit will be to ensure all aspects of governance, quality, and clinical performance, supported by our care administration, catering and housekeeping functions, is of a consistently high standard, while promoting a culture of practice improvement and service development.
As the Deputy to the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services, you will provide visible leadership and clinical expertise, acting as a role model, mentor and coach for our nursing and clinical teams and representing the directorate as required both with internal and external stakeholders. In this post you will also, fulfil the statutory role and requirements of the Accountable Officer for Controlled Drugs and act as the charity’s infection prevention and control lead.
