Airedale NHS Foundation Trust

Director of Corporate Affairs

West Yorkshire; Attractive package

Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is an award-winning hospital and community services trust with a workforce of over 3,500 and 350 committed volunteers serving a population of over 200,000 people across West and North Yorkshire and East Lancashire.  We are committed to working with our partners and our community to put patient and population needs first, and provide excellent, innovative, efficient, and diverse services which deliver safe, high quality care.

At a time of transformational change in the delivery of health and care services, we continue to respond and adapt to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and focus on the recovery of services for our local population. We have an unwavering focus on securing the future for our Trust for the benefit of the diverse population that we serve. We are proud to be an anchor institution in our local area and we continue to develop our approach to the sustainability agenda with an ambition to become a carbon neutral hospital. We are committed to the continued integration of health and care services locally and to working regionally through the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership, West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts and Act as One programme across Bradford District and Craven to ensure the sustainable delivery of high-quality services across our wider population

Our new Director of Corporate Affairs will be a key member of the senior leadership team, with shared responsibility for driving forward the overall vision of the Trust. As the principal adviser to the Board, the Trust Executive and the organisation as a whole on all aspects of corporate governance, you will be responsible for the leadership of the Board Assurance Framework, Office of the Chief Executive, Council of Governors and Foundation Trust Membership, as well as providing support to the Chair and Chief Executive’s offices in order to ensure the provision of effective, safe and high quality care, which meets the needs of patients and can be provided within the resources available. There is also an opportunity for the portfolio to have responsibility for Communications and our Charity, dependent on experience.

This is a diverse and varied leadership role, and we are interested to hear from experienced corporate governance leaders, either those looking to step up to a director role or individuals already operating at this level, who are looking to expand their leadership expertise into a potentially broader portfolio.  You will have experience working in a highly regulated and complex partnership environment, with a track record of supporting and enabling change, strong political acumen and ability to build effective relationships at all levels in an organisation. Most of all, you will share our values and those of our health and care system and ensure that we continue to put people first and deliver the right care, every time; keeping people ‘happy, healthy and at home’.

The Trust aspires to be truly representative of the population we serve and we welcome applications from people of diverse backgrounds and who can evidence understanding of the needs of the communities served by the Trust.

Closing date for applications is: Friday 22 July 2022
