Practicus are partnering with a London based NHS organisation that are urgently seeking a Director of Safeguarding.

PURPOSE - You will use your experience as a senior safeguarding practitioner applying senior managerial skills to provide strategic leadership to the safeguarding team which includes children and adults at risk as well as learning disability, mental health, and dementia services across the Trust and its partner providers.

THE DIFFERENCE you will make by designing and implementing an effective safeguarding strategy across multiple partners and providers will ensure they have safe, efficient, and effective delivery of care, compatible with professional and national standards reducing risks and greatly improving care for patients in their local community.

THE ROLE IS BOTH INTERESTING AND CHALLENGING because you will be working in partnership with the statutory bodies such as local authorities and the police (as partner agencies) and other providers to shape the safeguarding strategy and workforce roles to deliver it. The work you do will greatly improve safeguarding for the services used by the local community.

TO DELIVER THIS we require someone who has worked in a Senior Safeguarding Leadership role, shaped, and delivered the safeguarding strategy and got buying form the exec team and provider partners.

· Proven experience gained within the NHS at a senior safeguarding leadership and strategic role
· Ability to design and implement a safeguarding strategy across multiple partners and providers ensuring
· Able to lead and develop the safeguarding teams, shaping their roles and career paths
· Ability to engage and build relationships with staff and external partners
· Ability to influence the exec teams across multiple organisations
· Safeguarding System wide experience would be desirable

BAND: NHS Band 9
LENGTH: 6 months
START: July/ Early August 2022
