NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest NHS Board in Scotland. We provide strategic leadership and performance management for the entire local NHS system in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area ensuring that services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
With an annual revenue budget of £1.8 billion and a workforce of around 21,000 staff our Acute Services division provides a complex range of hospital services across three Acute Sectors covering a full range of Inpatient, Outpatient and Emergency Services in north Glasgow, south Glasgow and Clyde (Paisley, Greenock and West Dunbartonshire). In addition there are three Directorates with cross site responsibilities covering Regional Services, Diagnostics and Woman and Children’s Services.
Our team of six Acute Directors play a vital leadership and operational management role for largest and most complex Acute Health and Care system in Scotland.
We are now looking to strengthen that team with the appointment of two Directors to the following keys posts which have arisen due to an internal promotion appointment:
Director, Regional Services: Leading, directing and managing a wide ranging portfolio of highly specialised services (Neurosciences, National Spinal Injuries, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Interventional Neuroradiology, Renal, Burns and Plastics, Forensic Mental Health Services and the Dental Hospital) on a NHS Board, west of Scotland and national basis. Accountable for a budget of £373m and around 3,547 wte staff, the role has also a clear focus on achieving NHS Scotland Cancer targets.
In addition community based services for breast screening and the cervical cancer screening programme, are managed within the Directorate. The Directorate has the largest radiotherapy physics and nuclear medicine departments and health physics and equipment management in both Scotland and the UK.
