We are working with an NHS Trust who are seeking to appoint an Interim Divisional Director of Operations - Medicine. This role will be for 6 months and is based on site.

This is an interim role that falls under the Workforce Alliance Framework and should be expected to be remunerated at a c£540 day rate dependant on experience.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Reporting to the Clinical Board Director, the Director of Operations will be responsible for the provision of strategic leadership to ensure the effective and efficient management of all services within the responsibility and accountability of the Clinical Board.
  • The post holder will have unambiguous accountability to ensure effective operational management of all available resources; delivery of efficient services’ within budget within the scope of the Clinical Board;
  • The post holder will have leadership responsibility for the operational management of the Clinical Board, ensuring the effective implementation of national, regional and local strategies and the delivery of service objectives within available resources on all sites within the remit of the Clinical Board;
  • The post holder will work in partnership with the Clinical Board Director to ensure full engagement of all staff in the Clinical Board in the delivery of the Clinical Board/Health Board strategies.
  • They will take a lead on cross-organisation projects and change initiatives that support delivery of the objectives.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience;
  • In depth professional knowledge of General Management, Financial Management, Business Planning, Clinical Strategies and Performance Management acquired through training;
  • Senior management experience in an Acute NHS provider setting;
  • Extensive specialist knowledge, expertise and experience in Medicine Management at Band 9 level.
