Interim Director of Nursing for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities

 East Midlands Based Client – VSM

Woodrow Mercer has been approached by an NHS Organization based in the East Midlands to support them with a vacant role for a Director of Nursing.

 

This role is a full-time position which will include a minimum of 2 days on site with strong managerial responsibilities. This position will be for a period of 6 months initially with a strong chance of extension for a further 3 months

 

Job Description

 

The post holder will provide visible leadership, vision, advice, supervision and support to clinical professionals throughout the organisation, ensuring that consistent high quality clinical standards are integrated and embedded into all patient services. Further responsibilities include:

 

  • Delivering corporate and strategic nursing leadership Delivering on a range of nursing and corporate priorities with the portfolio for Quality & Safety Provide direct support in the delivery of the organisation’s patient safety, clinical governance, and risk management objectives Provide clinical professional leadership to the nursing and support the Director of psychological services and Director of Quality AHP and social work professions To lead as Director of Infection, Prevention and Control. To advise the Board and System Partners on Mental Health. Learning Disability and Children’s Services in the organisation.

Required Skills / Experience:

 

  • NMC Registered RMN or RNLD (Exceptions can be made where there is extensive MH experience) Significant Experience of effectively operating at sub-Board level in the NHS or independent sector Significant experience in a nursing leadership role at a strategic level Knowledge and evidence of delivering the key issues relating to Clinical Governance Experience of specialist management and training/development of staff An awareness of current Health and Social Care policies and how they impact on Children’s, Mental Health and learning disabilities agenda
