A secondment has created a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative NHS Acute Trust in the South West of England for a period of 12 months as People Business Partner to their Neurosciences and Musculoskeletal Division. The Division has teams across various sites in the city, hosts a number of Networks including a Trauma Network, Neuromuscular Network and is leading on the development of Networks for Spine and Stroke. The Division also has strong links with academic centres and is involved in innovative research programmes.

The role provides a strategic People OD focus and direction for the Divisions to support the delivery of the highest quality patient care, efficiencies, and Trust and Divisional strategy and objectives. You will work proactively with the Divisional Directors, Clinical Directors and other senior stakeholders to support the forward planning, transformation, engagement and performance of the workforce, embedding good people practice and raising people management capability within the Division. Working closely with the Chief People Officer, Director of People, AD of Strategic Workforce Planning & Resourcing and other colleagues within the wider Chief People Officer portfolio, you will develop and implement initiatives that support the delivery of the Trust, national and ICS People Strategies.

This role leads on people priorities and OD in the Division and you will be providing expert advice and direction on people/workforce planning/employment law issues to inform business planning and influences and drives business objectives, the Divisional People Strategy, organisational design and workforce plans, supporting delivery against the strategic Divisional workforce and OD agenda and will involve you contributing to the design, development and delivery of the Trust's 'People Strategy', people policies, people management practice and the effective operation of a Trust-wide Business Partnering service.

Essential Qualifications and Experience includes:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent.

  • CIPD Qualified and Chartered Member of the CIPD.

  • Experience of developing the workforce aspects of strategic and operational business plans, including workforce planning and design.

  • Experience of leading the workforce elements of key organisational change programmes and devising people solutions which ensure consistency.

  • Experience of advising managers on complex change processes including restructuring, redundancy and TUPE transfers.

  • Experience in applying a business partner approach - working with managers to develop services and applying People management expertise to provide solutions to complex problems and delivery of strategic objectives.

This is a fantastic opportunity to either transition into your first NHS appointment or continue your NHS Business Partnering career within an organistion well known for its innovative approaches. The role is predominantly onsite as you will be visible across multiple sites across the city, wth limited remote working.

The role is remunerated at AfC Band 8B and our cleint is ideally seeking an FTC contract however they are open to an interim deployment too.
