Director of Finance – 12 month Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking a Director of Finance on a 12 month fixed term or secondment basis. The role will focus on providing strong professional leadership to the finance function and working with the leadership team to drive forward the delivery of the Trust’s strategy and robust financial plans.

As a suitable candidate you will either be an experienced Director of Finance or Deputy from within a large organisation, comfortable operating at Board level and providing sound financial advice to senior colleagues. You will have a coaching management style with the ability to nurture and develop colleagues and build high performing teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

•    Develop annual financial plans, which satisfy the short term demands of the organisation, support its long-term viability and fit within the overall viability of the organisation. Lead the process of financial planning through the Annual Planning process to ensure a coherent and coordinated approach.

•    Ensure the timely and accurate presentation of financial, contracting and other management information to drive delivery and ensure timely adoption and execution of the actions required to deliver the financial plan and monitor financial performance targets.

•    Develop and maintain appropriate systems of financial control such that assets are safeguarded and subsequently maintain Standing Financial Instructions which incorporate these control systems.

•    Advise the Board on financial management and planning to ensure compliance with statutory and contractual obligations, and with stated policies and compliance business strategy.

•    Analyse and evaluate the overall financial, quality and risk consequences of different service options to inform the strategic management and business planning.
